About the Course
This course introduces the key principles behind effective Best Management Practices (BMPs) used for erosion control and stormwater management. Through structured modules, John McCullah explains how BMPs function and how to select the right solution for different environmental and construction conditions. Participants explore topics including raindrop impact erosion, lessons from the Caltrans experience, and practical considerations for soil preparation and earthworks. The course also covers core BMP systems used for erosion control, runoff control, and sediment control, helping participants understand how these practices work together to protect soils and downstream environments.
